Devlog 3 — GRAVITY GUNNERS.
Hello! This time we are going to talk about some updates we've done to the features mentioned in the previous devlog.
Improved Movement and Interplanetary Navigation
We fixed some errors that made the players able to fly while walking around the planets or get stuck while moving, and added a jumping animation. Now that we can jump, we can get out of the planet's gravity field, allowing the players to fly in the space! With this new mechanic, players are able to travel between planets while shooting each other!
Charged Shots and Overcharge Mechanic
We have a new addition for the shooting controls. Players can now charge their shots by holding down the fire button(Left Mouse click).
The longer the charge, the more forceful the shot becomes, adding variability and depth to combat
We also added a new feature called overcharge: if the shot is charged beyond the maximum threshold, it becomes larger and when we add a health mechanic, we intend to make it do some extra damage.
Sound design
Due to a reimplementation of the black hole obstacle, we weren’t able to implement the galactic accelerator; instead, we’ve decided to commence the process of sound design in the game by adding multiple sounds to core mechanics like movement and shooting, among other parts of the game.
